Friendly staff and a good boutique hotel... read more vibe. They bring a continental breakfast to your room at a prearranged time (more or less). If like me you want more than one cup of coffee in the morning, I liked the nearby Café Mané. Also if you have any mobility issues, note that the second floor rooms are accessable only via a long staircase. Would absolutely stay here again. More
22 March, 2019We originally booked for a two day stay, but our plans changed at the last minute and we ended up staying 10 days. We LOVED it here! ... read more El Serafin is located within walking distance to Corregidora Plaza with plenty of eateries and entertainment to keep you busy. Maria and her staff were fantastic! They were flexible in accomodating our changing needs and were available 24/7. They helped arrange transportation for us, gave advice on where and how to go within the vicinity, and specifically Maria (speaks Spanish) and Luis (speaks English) were lovely to chat with. The room was clean, comfortable and quiet, COVID provention measures were fully in place, the building is kept very secure, and the atmosphere was very friendly, quaint and beautiful. It was truly a pleasure staying here....by the time we left, it felt like a second home. We will definitely be back :). Thank you Maria!! Love, Roberto and Lori Sanchez More

Unique large airy antique room, yummy continental breakfast with fresh fruit, very friendly staff. Close to EVERYTHING. Comfortable beds, hot water. Only very minor suggestion would be better lighting.
5 March, 2020This place is comfy, clean, lovely architecture and has great staff. You can’t ask for much more than that. There’s a nice roof-top terrace and the reception sells beer etc,... read more to keep you refreshed whilst enjoying a relaxing evening up there. Default breakfast is continental (toast) in your room, but you can ask for a Mexican desayuno the day before, and also choose to eat on the terrace (recommended!)

Location is fantastic in the center of the historic district. El Serafin offers 3 different types of rooms. We booked last minute and got a... read more rather small room, Acasa. I would recommend the next size up which we happened to look in to, which was very good sized with a sitting room. The internet was absolutely horrid. We kept getting disconnected - repeatedly. I don’t think I was ever on for more than 5 minutes consecutively. Breakfast is coffee (no refills), juice, toast, yogurt and fruit. We read some reviews which indicated an issue with excessive noise. We had no such problem.
11 March, 2019Our recent one week stay at El Serafin was absolutely wonderful. The location and charm of the hotel can't be beat. We stayed in the Aire room. ... read more The room was a great size. The bed was comfortable - though a bit hard. But that is sort of the Mexican standard. Our room was kept spotless with daily maid service. The simple European breakfast was very good and we looked forward to it each morning. It's delivered to your room at your specified time from 0730-1000. The only improvement I can think of would be to add a boiled egg to the tray for a bit more protein. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Some know more English than others. But, they were very patient with my marginal Spanish. We didn't take advantage of the honor bar service. But, we loved that they had it available.

They were quiet, and did not bother anyone but we did walk by them.
Our room was good, nothing spectacular, nothing negative. The breakfast was good for us and consisted of Fruit, toast, yogurt, and coffee. The people working at the front desk spoke very little English and seemed indifferent to our questions in our bad Spanish. The best employee was Ivan who hooked us up with Bike Tours Queretaro. We had sent emails to the hotel asking for a tour company or driver and got no response. We asked the first girl at the desk about tours and got no positive response either, but luckily Ivan called Bike Tours Queretaro and we were set.
